Wood Briquette

WOOD BRIQUETTES

WOOD BRIQUETTES ARE CHEAPER THAN FIREWOOD

Thanks to their higher calorific value, wood briquettes are significantly less expensive than firewood when it comes to heating. The calorific value of a tonne of wood briquettes is equal to 4 cubic metres of firewood (dry alder). Such high calorific value is achieved by pressing waste wood into briquettes under high pressure. That’s why a wood briquette is significantly heavier than a log of firewood with the same dimensions. Compare the price of 1 tonne of wood briquettes with that of 4 cubic metres of firewood and you’ll see that it’s markedly cheaper to heat with wood briquettes.

WOOD BRIQUETTES ARE ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY

Wood briquettes are made by pressing dry sawdust and planer shavings together under high pressure. No chemicals are used when producing wood briquettes; the briquette is held together by natural resins present in the wood. Use of wood briquettes instead of natural gas, fuel oil, peat, coal or petroleum products helps reduce greenhouse gases and decrease global warming. Wood is a renewable fuel. Wood briquettes help significantly reduce the costs and pollution related to transportation.

WOOD BRIQUETTES TAKE LITTLE SPACE

Wood briquettes are factory-stacked onto a pallet (120 x 100 cm); each pallet holds ~ 1,000 kg of wood briquettes. As the calorific value of wood briquettes is multiple times higher than that of firewood, you’ll need less of them accordingly. Wood briquettes will be delivered to your home on a pallet so that they can be conveniently located in a shed or storage room; you also won’t need to carry armloads of wood to the oven – bringing in one package at a time is enough.

WOOD BRIQUETTES GENERATE VERY LITTLE ASH

Heating with wood briquettes is good for chimneys and flues. Burning one tonne of wood briquettes generates just ~ 0.7% of ash. Wood briquettes can be used wherever firewood is used – in ovens, etc.
